HubPages: Marketing Idea for eBook Authors?

Think_Outside_The_Box_by_syazwishahifOkay, so today’s potential marketing idea for ebook authors is HubPages. I haven’t given this one much of a go before, so I’m going to give it a shot.

So, help me out! IF you’re a fellow ebook author – have you personally used hubpages to aid you in your marketing, and if so, how’d it work out for you?

Leave me a comment, hit me up on Facebook or drop me an email and tell me what you think.

Monday Marketing Experiment:

Do HubPages Work for Kindle eBook Marketing?

The Question: Can creating content-rich pages on HubPages.com help to drive sales to Kindle ebooks on Amazon.com?

The Research: From my own years of research and work in the online writing field, and articles such as this one and this one, I know how important it is to establish yourself as an expert in your field in order to help your readers trust you.

This also applies to ebook readers, and that’s part of the reason I obtained my life coach certification last year – I wanted to be more credible, as well as having new tools to better understand my topic focus.

My next step in the research is to continue the experiment.

The Hypothesis: HubPages could be a valuable resource for a non-fiction writer like myself, but I’m not sure if I have the time necessary to make it possible for me.

Honestly, I’m sure a lot of people have had great results with HubPages.com, but I’m not hanging my hat on this one.

The Experiment: Publish a detailed hub that passes the HubPages.com editor’s approval to see if it drives traffic toward ebook sales, directly or indirectly.

If traffic and/or sales are achieved through the method, the next step is to determine whether the amount of time spent is worth the traffic driven.

It’s officially an experiment. With that being said, I’ll keep my eye on the numbers and report back to you on this one.

The Current Status: Launched

This experiment is officially underway. I started a hub on HubPages.com today that’s related to my narcissism books – though the rules of the road around there really discourage overly promotional material, I was able to sneak in a link or two that could potentially benefit sales of the books.

I’ll keep you posted on the results and if they’re amazing, I’ll give you all the details on how I did it. If not, I’ll figure out what I did wrong, and I’ll share it with you, too – because hey, if I can make the mistakes and tell you how I fixed them, I can save you some time, right? That seems like a pretty good deal to me. :)

In the meantime, if you’d like to take a look at the resource page on narcissism and toxic relationships that I created and offer feedback or ideas, I’m always open to hearing ways I can improve! Thanks in advance, and thanks for reading. Stay tuned for the next big thing – sign up for my free email newsletter to keep up with my Great Kindle Publishing Experiment.
