The Ultimate Freelance Writer’s Guide to Getting More Clients

marketing your freelance services

I can’t tell you how often people assume that being an online writing pro is all about sitting around in your PJs playing on your computer; not to mention how often people come to me and ask me how they can do what I do – work at home and actually make a living doing it. (more…) Continue Reading →

Pay-It-Forward Marketing Program: Reviews and a Free Offer

review 1

“We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” – Sir Winston Churchill

I introduced my brand new Pay-It-Forward Marketing Program a couple weeks ago, and as it turns out, it’s been a huge hit with my fellow writers and small business owners. The reviews are in, and they’re all good. People are thrilled to be getting professional
marketing services at bargain-basement prices. The services are being hosted on Fiverr – a great way for any entrepreneur to connect with new clients. I actually started on Fiverr as a user a couple of years ago, buying gigs for various marketing services – but it never occurred to me to be a seller until recently. Continue Reading →

KDP Marketing Experiment: Kindle Countdown Deal

bloom flouish shine cover

If you’ve been following along with the Great Kindle Publishing Experiment, you know that I’ve been trying all sorts of different marketing tips and tricks in order to get my arms around what works and what doesn’t. While I’ve done the KDP free days with every book I’ve published so far (and they do seem to work – detailed information coming on that in a future post), I haven’t yet tried the Kindle Countdown Deal. So, since one of my books (which is admittedly slightly outside of my usual genre but still directed at my target audience and close enough to be relevant) isn’t selling as well as the others, I decided to try it with this one. It’s a more career-focused book and one that I hope will help me launch another series in the near future that focuses not only on discovering your passion but also on making money from it (that is, after all, what I do!). The book is called Bloom, Flourish, Shine and it’s priced at $4.49 on the Kindle store. Continue Reading →

Partnership Potential, Publishings and Preparing: Updates on the Great Kindle Experiment

angie24

If you have ever followed my work before, you might know that I co-owned a pretty big online writing blog and website a few years ago. I had a fabulous partner, but after a few years, our lives and businesses went in different directions. Though we remain friends and still co-own what’s left of the network, we’re not working together daily lately, and that’s totally okay. So after having been flying somewhat solo for awhile now, I’ve picked up a pretty awesome partner for QueenBeeing.com – my friend and YouTuber Melina the Pinterest Lady. And after having been facilitating a mastermind group for some of my fellow coaches at UCI, I have found another potential partnership. Continue Reading →

The Great Kindle Publishing Experiment

welcome-350167_640

After having made my living online for the past decade, I know a thing or two about what to do (and what not to do) to be successful. But now as I begin a new leg of the online publishing and writing journey, I have decided to launch this new blog in order to both keep track of it (to journal the experience) and to share what I learn with my fellow writers along the way. So why should you care what I’ve got to say? Let me offer a few good reasons. 1. Continue Reading →
